Censorship Stays as iPhone App Development Rules "Relax"

Ah, Apple finally allows developers to use other development tools other than Objective-C. They say it had to do with security, etc., but think about how many more developers will now start developing for iPhone/iPad that previously wouldn’t. All of them?

It now actually doesn’t make sense not to develop for the iTunes App Store. Let’s analyze the opportunity:

  • The world’s largest distribution platform for mobile applications
  • 120+ million registered users - 45 million iPhones/iPads sold so far (read as “potential customers”)
  • New social gaming app - Game Center

Basically, this is a win-win situation for Apple and its developers. What do you think?
